STEVE Smith’s teammates believe
they’re playing alongside the most complete Australian batsman since
Ricky Ponting, after 27/01/2015 night witnessing their young leader ice his
breakout year by winning his first Allan Border Medal.
It was fitting that the 25-year-old would become the youngest winner since a 23-year-old Michael Clarke in 2005, in a year where he scored seven hundreds and a total of 1756 runs across all three formats, which doesn’t even take into count last week’s masterful 102 not out in Hobart.
