Dushmantha Chameera picked to replace Dhammika Prasad

Dushmantha Chameera picked to replace  Dhammika Prasad

Dushmantha Chameera, the 23-year-old right-arm seamer, has been named as the replacement for Dhammika Prasad in Sri Lanka's World Cup squad. The change still needs the approval of the ICC's event technical committee.

Chameera only made his international debut against New Zealand in January but comes straight into the squad to replace Prasad, who was ruled out of the World Cup with a broken hand suffered in training.

Sri Lanka faced a choice between Chameera and Shaminda Eranga to replace Prasad but have gone with the younger, and quicker, bowler. Chameera has taken 25 List A wickets at 33.12 with an economy rate of 5.57.

Sri Lanka's second World Cup warm-up comes on Wednesday against Zimbabwe in Lincoln. They open their World Cup campaign against hosts New Zealand in Christchurch on February 14.
